Clematis of the Week.
William Kennett is a Early Large Flowered Type, the blooms are 6 inches across. The plant is hardy, zone 4 thru 9 and grows to 10 or 12 feet. This clematis blooms on the previous season growth so you don't want to prune it the early spring. The first bloom period is spring thru early summer. When it is finished blooming clean up the bush and give it a trim, deadhead it and William Kennett will bloom again for you in September. Pruning group 2.
Wonderful planted with a yellow climbing rose. Here it is pictured with a yellow peony. Try matching it with Golden Gate, Lemon Meringue, or even the white climbing Iceberg would be gorgeous.
We do not yet ship Clematis but stop by the nursery to see our clematis selection. We have shipment a of 250 coming the first week of May. Some of our favorites, Arabella, Durandi, Ruutel, Marie Louise Jensen, Venosa Violacea....well I could go on and on. Stop by and see them for yourself. We will be glad to assisit you in your choice.

Rose of the week, LUNAR MIST

Our rose of the week is a climber introduced by Star Roses here in United States in 2007. Wonderful old fashioned bloom from the Romantica Series. Deep ivory with a yellow undertones, and a spicey fragrance. We are excited about this rose as it is very hardy, zone 2 thru 8, vigorous, with excellent disease resistance. Height of 8 to 10 feet, and repeat blooms throughout the season. It is all budded up and ready to bloom in the greenhouse, just waiting to be picked or shipped to your garden. $15.95 for a strong growing plant.

The Rosarium In Snow!
Happy New Year 2009!
Northland Rosarium is enduring almost 77" of snow already this year! Wow! They tell us we only need 15" more to break the century's record. In the meantime, we will continue to carefully watch over our rose-filled greenhouses. The plants are doing splendid! Above are a few favorite photos from our snowy holiday at the Rosarium.
